World Stats Run to be held for the first time in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR – To attract both professional and amateur runners, the World Stats Run 2019 offers several distances – 21 KM, 10KM and 5KM.

World Stats Run 2019 will be organised in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for the first time on August 18.

In conjunction with the 62nd International Statistical Institute (ISI) World Statistics Congress (WSC) 2019, happening in Malaysia for the first time, the World Stats Run 2019 is organised as a fringe event and is open to the public at the details below :

Date :  Sunday, 18 August 2019 
Time :  FLAG OFF TIME
            21km: 5.30am
            10km: 6.30am
              5km: 7.00am
Venue : Dataran Merdeka, Kuala Lumpur.

The World Stats Run 2019 aims to create public awareness on the 62nd ISI WSC 2019 extending the theme “Come, Connect and Create”.

The run will provide an avenue for statisticians and the public to meet on a common ground to create memorable experiences amongst the amazing landscapes and sceneries of Kuala Lumpur.

The estimated number of participants for this run will be around 8,000 to 10,000 pax, targeting the age group of 5 and above in various categories.

The ISI World Statistics Congress (WSC) takes place once every two years in different countries and is usually organised by or in partnership with the host country’s national office of statistics.

This year, the 62nd ISI World Statistics Congress (WSC) will be held for the first time in Kuala Lumpur from 18-23 August 2019. The event is organised by the Department of Statistics, Malaysia (Jabatan Perangkaan Malaysia).
