Members of the public with enquiries on summon notices issued to them can meet the designated officers stationed at all Road Transport Department branch offices, police stations and the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) office for clarification.
Road Transport Department Director-General Solah Mat Hassan said the service was provided in view of the many enquiries from the public on the summon notices that were issued to them.
“Among the grounds of their complaints are that the summons should not have been issued, they did not receive the summon notices or the ownership of the vehicles concerned have changed to another person,” he told reporters at a media conference here today.
Also present at the media conference was Bukit Aman Traffic chief Abdul Aziz Yusof.
Solah said the officers concerned would assist the public with their complaints by clarifying, including producing the records of the alleged offences.
“If there is merit in the case, no further action will be taken, but if records from the department found that summon is valid, it has to be settled,” he added.
Solah said most of the complaints on the issuance of the summon notices were sent through e-mails to the relevant agencies or letters to newspaper editors.
Meanwhile, Abdul Aziz advised the public against sending their complaints on the summons to the media, but to liaise direct with the relevant agencies.
