The Johor Bahru Happy and Joyous Club hosts the four-day maiden visit of Dr Madan Kataria, founder of the World Laughter Club, beginning March 3, 2011.
“Laughter is therapeutic, improves one’s health and is for all age groups,” said the Stulang assemblyman, Mok Chek Hou, at the press conference.
He added he will propose to the state tourism department to make laughter yoga a niche tourism product in view of its health benefits and its increasing popularity throughout Malaysia and globally.
Club chairwoman, Fung Lee Jean made a clarion call to all Malaysians, especially Johoreans, to make “Johor Bahru the city of laughter”.
She said that a fun and enlightening public programme has been lined up, including a public seminar, laughter yoga sessions with various NGOs, residents associations and also the Johor police force.
She invites all Malaysians to participate and to meet Dr. Kataria in person.
