MyEG launches Nak Makan Ramadan e-Bazaar

Food vendors in Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Selangor can list their Ramadan fare on the Nak Makan website for customers to select and purchase online during the fasting month.

MyEG introduces new food service platform ‘Nak Makan’ to help non-IT savvy vendors get online to market their products during the Ramadan month, and help them generate a source of income.

MY E.G. Services Berhad (MyEG) has expanded its Nak Beli, an e-commerce  marketplace, into a new food service platform, called “Nak Makan”, to market freshly cooked meals and food products that can be ordered by customers online.

For its first phase, Nak Makan is hosting a Ramadan e-Bazaar where food vendors in Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Selangor can list their Ramadan fare on the Nak Makan website for customers to select and purchase online during the fasting month.

Ramadan bazaar vendors within these areas are invited to participate and register their business details on www.nakmakan.com.my or to contact MyEG at +603 7664 8100 or +6017 228 5948/5954/5958/5983.

“This initiative is introduced since Ramadan bazaars will not be operating while the Movement Control Order (MCO) is still in force,” MyEG said in a statement.

There are no deposits required for listing on the platform or for the use of delivery partners.

Vendors will be able to operate from their own premises, and the Nak Makan delivery partner, MrSpeedy will collect the food from them and deliver to customers.

“The introduction of Nak Makan’s Ramadan e-Bazaar initiative is to support local food vendors who are not necessarily IT savvy, by providing them with a platform to market their products during the Ramadan month, and help them generate a source of income,” MyEG added.

Nak Makan’s motto is to ‘Let you focus on whipping up Ramadan goodies and leave the rest to us’ where the support team will do everything required to get Ramadan delicacies to customers.

Based on vendor registration form, customers are expected to start buying food at Nak Makan website starting from 23 April 2020 till 23 May 2020.

For the company’s second and third phase, plans are afoot to launch new initiatives such as e-Sahur, where customers can order food online and have them delivered for their pre-dawn meal, and e-Raya, where traders and vendors can promote and sell festive goods that include fashion ware, accessories and home decor.
