Kulai MP Teo Ni Ching brought a little cheer to children’s homes when she presented 70 bags of goodies donated by the public and MP office.
Teo hoped the small gesture could help bring happiness to children in homes who can’t afford so the less fortunate are not forgotten for the coming Christmas.
“I hope Christmas this year would still be meaningful for the children even in a global Covid-19 pandemic,” she said in her Facebook post.
The two children’s homes in her constituency that received the Christmas goody bags were Rumah Kebajikan Vision Kulai and Rumah Kebajikan Guru Shree Raghavendra.
The children were excited by the abundance of items that filled the bags such as Christmas cookies, candies, snack, mask, book, colour pencil, crayon, stationery set and craft kit set and homemade soap.
Rumah Kebajikan Vision Kulai currently houses 30 children between five and 20 years old. Founded 17 years ago by Pastor Rev Chong Soo Yin, the children home is devoted to orphans, single parent children and other disadvantaged children.
Rumah Kebajikan Guru Shree Raghavendra is currently home to 34 children, aged from six to 17 years. The children’s home founder, Karunaniti said the home provides shelter, food and overall development to underprivileged children since 2015, the majority of whom are abandoned children.
