Safety and hygiene protocols remain the best method in response to the Covid-19 pandemic. While Malaysians embrace the new normal and adapt to new measures, Domino’s Pizza Malaysia chief executive officer Shamsul Amree said Domino’s takes cognizance of these concerns.
As Domino’s remain open and operational during the Movement Control Order (MCO), it places great emphasis on safety and well-being of its customers and workforce.
Shamsul said Domino’s was the first service provider to implement mandatory Zero Contact Delivery across all its operations as a measure to mitigate and prevent the spread of Covid-19 as quickly and responsibly as possible at the beginning of MCO in 2020.
Domino’s also introduced its revolutionary Pandu Ambil service to provide safety and convenience to customers, from kitchen to car, eliminating the need to disembark or even look for a parking spot to collect the order, while ensuring 100% contactless service.
Shamsul said the Zero Contact Delivery and Pandu Ambil take-away services were planned well ahead of its introduction as part of Domino’s continuous service improvement to their customers, which are relevant for Covid-19 requirements of physical distancing.
“Tech-driven services are important for us to provide a customer experience that transcends touchpoints. The introduction of Pandu Ambil, with its advanced integration of back-end programming, has enables us increase our capabilities and heighten our efforts to serve our customers across the country,” he added.
Shamsul said its Count of Domino’s pledge consists of vigorous safety and hygiene measures which are monitored closely by senior members of the team.
He pointed out that frequent and scheduled sanitization is carried out across all touchpoints including the order taking counter, oven tending station, pizza making station and routing station, entrance, and customer area.
Additionally, all items in the restaurant and kitchen are sanitized regularly. Staff audits are conducted periodically to ensure SOPs are observed.
He also highlighted that all Domino’s employees, including kitchen crew members and cashiers are required to wear face masks, undergo daily temperature checks prior to their shifts and practice strict physical distancing in store.
They are also required to wash and sanitize their hands regularly, on a scheduled basis. Glove usage is compulsory for all kitchen crew members throughout food preparation process. These steps are enforced as part of Domino’s hygiene and safety standards.
“Safety and convenience will always remain a top priority to us as we live up to our promise of ‘It’s All About You’. Domino’s culture is 100% customer-centric. We keep a close pulse on our customers’ needs and stay ahead of dynamic market trends as we constantly strive to deliver products and services beyond their expectations,” concluded Shamsul.
