Three deserving Malaysian women were crowned as winners at the Miss Grand Malaysia 2021 pageant which concluded recently.
Lishalliny Kanaran is Miss Grand Malaysia 2021, Poorani Rajoo is the new Miss Intercontinental Malaysia 2021 while Malveen Kaur was crowned as The Miss Malaysia Globe 2021.
23 candidates from all over Malaysia were vying for the three national titles with the honours to represent the country at the prestigious international pageants.
With the restriction orders still in place in the country due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the national pageant was organized virtually throughout the month of July 2021. A crowning ceremony will be held when restriction orders are relaxed in the country.
The three beauty queens will be carrying the responsibility to compete at various international pageants later this year, including Miss Grand International, Miss Intercontinental and Miss Globe.
Lishalliny Kanaran, 24, an architecture student from Shah Alam, Selangor came out tops to clinch the Miss Grand Malaysia 2021 title after her third attempt at the national title. She will now represent Malaysia in the Miss Grand International pageant, which is expected to be held in Thailand later this year.
She is expected to continue the success of predecessor Jasebel Robert who finished Top 10 at Miss Grand International 2020 held in Bangkok, Thailand earlier this year.
Poorani, 24, a customer advocacy executive from Kuala Lumpur will represent Malaysia to compete at the 49th edition of Miss Intercontinental 2021 in Sharm El Sheik, Egypt scheduled on 29th October, 2021.
Meanwhile, model and fashion designer Malveen Kaur, 27, from Senai, Johor will represent Malaysia to take on challenges at The Miss Globe 2021 pageant in Tirana, Albania on 5th Nov, 2021.
“We are extremely proud to welcome the three queens who will assume national responsibility. Amidst the ongoing pandemic severity in our country, we were able to continue the selection virtually and hope these ladies will continue their respective good works especially with the community,” said Miss Grand Malaysia national director Jude Benjamin Lisa, in congratulating the winners.
The Miss Grand Malaysia organization holds the national license for the three international pageants in the country.
“We hope to continue to deliver as part of our continuous effort to empower young women across the country and at the same time providing a platform for local entrepreneurs and brands to collaborate with as a marketing avenue to recover from the economy downturn due to the pandemic,” added Jude.
