This Christmas, over 100 wishes will come true

Mbuji Café grants Christmas wishes to various homes in Malaysia & Africa.

The Mbuji café’s charity campaign recently centred over 100 kids from various homes in Malaysia, where the kids were entertained with a carnival themed performance and fun-filled activities at the Sunway Giza, Kota Damansara.

The event was also attended by Mr Simba Yahaya, deputy high Commissioner of Tanzania.

The idea was conceptualized by the brand owners in an effort to give back to the community.

“We believe it’s vital for the business to support the community in which they operate. Customers today are savvy about making purchases that are ethical, whether it’s production or retail, thus we felt this was a perfect opportunity for us to share our company values with the community,” explained Gus Savvas, Director of Mbuji Cafe.

One of the activities was called “Wish Cards”, a programme in which kids from various homes in Malaysia wrote their wish-list on cards that was later placed at the giant Christmas tree located at Central Boulevard in Sunway Giza.

The cards are picked up by mall goers who will be encouraged to fulfill the children’s wishes by making a contribution at a collection counter that has been set up.

The Mbuji Café will be delivering the gifts on Christmas day.

Apart from the activities held at Sunway Giza, a donation drive will also take place this month to collect various items such as books, food, stationeries, toys and clothes for orphanages in Africa.
