Mah Meri Art Gallery

The Mah Meri Art Gallery, located at Tanah Rata, is an exciting tourist destination in the Cameron Highlands. The gallery showcases a private collection of wood carvings, masks and sculptures carved by the Mah Meri indigenous people living on Carey Island. Hundreds of sculptures, masks and statues are exhibited in the Mah Meri Art Gallery.

KC Kwang & Sons Grape & Tomato Farm

It’s worth visiting the KC Kwang & Sons farms because the fruits are compost grown, meaning they are organic and can be eaten without washing. The dark purple grapes are so deep in colour they are like luxurious black pearls. The grapes are indeed a pedigree breed, the Kyoho, originating from Shizuoka Prefecture in Japan.

Brinchang Observation Tower

The observation tower is located at the peak of Gunung Brinchang at 2000 metres from sea level. The tower, standing thirty metres high, is made of steel iron and perfectly safe. Visitors could view the whole of Cameron Highlands on good days and the peak of Gunung Irau, which is the highest peak in Cameron Highlands.

The Mossy Forest

The mossy forest is a unique natural environment that grows only at the highest elevations of Cameron Highlands and other mountain ranges across Malaysia. At such heights, low-level clouds in the sky driven by winds blanket the forests with constant mist and moisture – creating an ideal biotope for moss, ferns, lichen and orchids. This moist tropical evergreen forest is a rich repository for various montane creatures. Visitors may explore the mossy forest through a boardwalk 2km before the peak of Gunung Brinchang, accessible by road from the Boh Tea Sungai Palas intersection.

Ee Feng Gu Honey Bee Farm

Just five kilometres from the town centre, the remarkable Ee Feng Gu Honey Bee Farm stands as one of the main attractions in Cameron Highlands. Banking on experience, the beekeepers have been well trained and very knowledgeable about honey and beekeeping. On this farm, you’ll see more than just honey. Royal jelly and pollen are also this farm’s products and are constantly in demand in Malaysia. It provides excellent information about the bees and a beautiful complimenting landscape.

Cameron Highlands Night Market

Many stalls mushroom along the main road of Brinchang once the sun goes down. Many visitors defy the chilly night wind to visit this market for its selection of goods like souvenirs, clothes, and local products and crafts. The stalls also sell fantastic street food. If you want to grab some gifts before you leave the next day, this night market is one of the best options.

Cameron Lavender Garden

The beautiful Lavender Garden is another popular attraction. Located just a 10km drive from Brinchang town, the Lavender Garden is filled with not just all types of dreamy lavender but also lovely Japanese roses, morning glory, hydrangea, and daisies of all colours. The garden is also well-decorated with cute props that are perfect for photos and is dotted with shops selling everything from souvenirs to homemade lavender-flavoured ice cream.

The Sheep Sanctuary

Fancy feeling like you are in New Zealand? Then head to the Sheep Sanctuary, home to the fluffy sheep. Visitors are free to pat, feed, and play with sheep that are either kept in well-kept enclosures or allowed to roam freely. There’s also a little cafe overlooking the sanctuary where you can sit down and rest your legs.
