A trader, who was caught on his wedding eve for snatch theft, was today sentenced to 12 months’ jail for the offence.
Sessions Court judge Zainal Abidin Kamaruddin handed down the sentence on Shairol Anuar Zainudin after he pleaded guilty to the charge.
Shairol Anuar was ordered to serve the sentence from the date of arrest on Nov 3, 2010.
Shairol Anuar, 26, from Jengka, Pahang, was charged with snatching a handbag belonging to Siti Noraziah Bachek, 42, at an intersection to PPR Sri Semarak Jalan Air Keroh, Setapak here, at 5.45pm last Nov 3.
He was charged under Section 392 of the Penal Code.
