Penang Forum looking for civil society nominees

Penang Forum is an open forum for civil society organizations and individuals to discuss issues and formulate policies for the betterment of Penang.

Penang Forum 3 will be holding an election to determine civil society nominees to serve as MPPP and MPSP councillors for the year 2011. Currently there are 22 nominees.

Penang Forum is an open forum for civil society organizations and individuals to discuss issues and formulate policies for the betterment of Penang.

The Penang Forum is pushing  to revive local government elections as an essential element of democratic government.

Five elected persons will have their names submitted to the State Government although it is uncertain if they will be appointed.

Date : Sunday, 14 November.
Time : 9.00 am – 3.00 pm
Venue : Penang Chinese Girls School Alumni Hall
(directly opposite St Nicholas School for the Blind),
Jalan Bagan Jermal, Penang.
(Registration Fee RM10.00, Students RM5.00)
