As Independence Day and Malaysia Day draw closer, MBSB Bank has released a heartwarming and uplifting short video which will arouse your patriotism.

This year’s MBSB video is an inspiring social experiment depicting the spirit of togetherness.

Of late, social experiment videos have become a popular sub-genre used by content creators to show how humans think and act in a situation.

The video, now available on MBSB’s social media, has garnered the netizen’s attention. Within three days, the video garnered more than 100,000 views.

The two and half minute video features an older man driving in a Red Proton car adorned with the Malaysia flag in various parts of Kuala Lumpur.

The video starts with a question, how far will people go to help someone they do not know?

The first part of the MBSB video is the scene depicting the set-up of the video.

The set-up begins with a montage of a man driving an old car through various parts of the city, and the car stops abruptly in the middle of the road.

The second part of the video is where the video seeks to reveal the reaction of people.

Initially, the man pushed the car alone while being watched by bystanders — some seemed to be taking photos or videos on their phones.

The reaction expected in this part will answer the question posed at the start of the MBSB video. Will anyone come forward to help him?

The heartwarming outcome

Even though we know, there is no shortage of good samaritans in Malaysia, watching someone stepping up to help the older man will move you.

The video continues with similar scenes in different settings, but the outcome is always the same. Malaysians never fail to come forward to help.

The final part of the social experiment, which is the conclusion, shows a few Malaysians pushing the car, accompanied by a caption.

The caption reads: as we move together step by step, we will always be moving forward.

For an experimental video, the MBSB video is shot beautifully with various angles.

MBSB also managed the impossible by producing a video without a persuasive script, animation, believable characters, and narration.

It conveyed the message in the most profound way possible by evoking the viewers’ emotions.
