Three fabulous beauty queens crowned in one night

The beauty queens coveted three crowns; Miss World Malaysia 2022, Miss Grand Malaysia 2022, and Miss Supranational Malaysia 2023.

Three national beauty queens were crowned during the HyperLive Festival Malaysia 2022 at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) in Kota Kinabalu yesterday.

The three coveted crowns at the grand coronation night are Miss World Malaysia 2022, Miss Grand Malaysia 2022, and Miss Supranational Malaysia 2023.

First up was the Miss World Malaysia 2022, which saw 15 contestants vying for the crown. Finally, Sabahan Wenanita Angang came out as the winner of Miss World Malaysia 2022.

Reigning Miss World, Dr Lavanya Sivaji crowned her successor Angang.

Meanwhile, Evelyn Ting from Sarawak took the first runner-up spot, and Anya Kimberly was the second runner-up.

The second contest was Miss Grand Malaysia 2022, with Charissa Chong of Selangor crowned as the winner.

Vivienna Alfred from Sarawak placed second, while Johor’s Angela Quah was third.

Miss Grand International 2021 Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien presented Chong the crown.

The final event of the night was the Miss Supranational Malaysia 2023 and Deidre Walker took the crown. Meanwhile Vinthiya Vasu came out as the first runner-up, and Vivienna Alfred was the second runner-up.

Reigning Miss World Karolina Bielawska and Miss Grand International Nguyen Thuy Thuc Tien will be special guests during the highly anticipated event.

Sabah local government and housing minister Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun, Sabah tourism, culture, and environment assistant minister Datuk Joniston Bangkuai and Kota Kinabalu City Hall director-general Junainah Abbie attended the event.

The event is supported by the state Tourism, Culture and Environment Ministry, Sabah Tourism Board, Kota Kinabalu City Hall and the Malaysian International Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MICCI).

The festival is also part of the Kota Kinabalu Vibrant City initiatives for the year, said Eric Goh, director of the main organiser Fantastic Golden.
