Sunway Medical Centre Velocity (SMCV) has recently launched its fertility centre to cater to the community’s needs.
The 7,222.5 sq ft fertility centre is on level three beside its Women and Children centre.
Dr Farah Leong Rahman and Dr Ashley Chung Soo Bee, consultant obstetricians, gynaecologists and fertility specialists from SMCV, are helming the centre.
The facilities include consultation rooms for couples, operation theatres, treatment rooms and semen collection rooms.
Other facilities include andrology labs, embryology labs, cryopreservation room, recovery room, and daycare room.
Furthermore, it has the latest technology and systems for various fertility and gynaecology procedures.
With the launch of this new fertility centre, SMCV can now provide an all-inclusive range of services related to fertility as well as women and children care under one roof and streamline the fertility journey for parents-to-be.
SMCV CEO Derrick Chan adds the goal of the hospital has always been to help the community and provide them with accessible and quality healthcare that will enrich their lives.
“The launch of the fertility centre is another step towards that in providing holistic care and treatment for women and children from the stage of family planning, pre-natal and post-natal care and children’s wellbeing.”
Meanwhile, Woon Ming Ming said they are excited to introduce Sunway Fertility Centre within the Cheras area as we hope to make quality fertility treatment more accessible to the community.

SMCV: A one-stop centre for family planning and care

At the official launch of the fertility centre, guests and members of the media were taken on a special tour to familiarise themselves with the space.
Present at the launch were Sunway Healthcare Group managing director Dato’ Lau Beng Long, Sunway Fertility Centre CEO Woon Ming Ming and Sunway Medical Centre Velocity medical director and consultant emergency physician Dr Wee Tong Ming were there to officiate and witness the momentous occasion.
In addition to the official opening, the centre will be open for the public and interested couples for counselling.
