Police have rounded up six men in separate raids in Kajang, Cheras, Semenyih and Taman Damai in connection with a case where four backhoes were stolen on Wednesday.
Brickfields police chief ACP Wan Abdul Bari Wan Abdul Khalid said the theft happened at 3am at a construction company in Bukit Damansara here.
“Eight men had overpowered a Bangladeshi guarding the premises before escaping with the machines worth RM600,000,” he told reporters at this office here today.
He said the men, aged between 20 and 55, were picked up from their respective homes the same day.
He added that two of the backhoes had been recovered and that police were in the process of tracing the remaining suspects and the other two machines.
