The Cosplay Carnival promises a Spook-tacular time

The free event, organised by Cosplay Fantasy, features an impressive lineup of over 70 local cosplayers, doujin artists, and merchants for all ages.

Cosplay Carnival, happening this 15th and 16th of October 2022 at 3 Damansara, is bringing on the spooks for a weekend celebration of everything anime, cosplay and gaming.

The free event, organised by Cosplay Fantasy, features an impressive lineup of over 70 local cosplayers, doujin artists, and merchants of all ages.

The event will be the best place for fans to meet their cosplay idols, including special guests Angie00, Amelia Khor, and Momo Rex as the star-studded judges of the Cosplay Competition, which will take place on Day 2 and will have a total prize pool of RM2,000.

Amelia Khor is a regular judge and performer for various cosplay events; Angie0_0 has been a cosplayer and costume maker for over a decade, while Momo Rex is a talented prop maker that creates professional-level props for cosplayers.

The event will also feature special performances by TikTok star Pudds a.k.a. “Peribahasa Girl,” hosting a never-before-seen special stage event.

More exciting performances will be going down on stage this weekend, with DJ Taka Kazuki pumping up the hype with live DJ remixes of everyone’s favourite anime tunes.

Fans can meet and greet their favourite cosplay idols while enjoying exclusive merchandise at the Cosplay Alley.

Besides special guests Angie0_0 and Amelia Khor, notable names Pudds, Tsuyu-SEI, Vmeow, and Momo. xoxo, Wenzi Dayooo and Senyuki Cosplayer will also have booths at the Cosplay Alley this weekend.

An exciting weekend for cosplay fans

The Nijikaeri Maid Cafe will have its special cat-themed maid cafe exclusively at Cosplay Carnival from 11 am to 3 pm daily. Slots are available for pre-booking here for those interested in experiencing the popular Japanese maid cafe culture.

Fans of the latest anime, comics, and gaming-inspired arts and crafts can drop by Doujin Alley. It will feature artworks from local artists, such as handcrafted accessories from Fantasy Craftworks and Chika Handcraft, Genshin Impact-inspired merchandise from JooIng Art and Butter-fly Anime Shop.

Cosplay

In collaboration with Infinite Carnage and the Malaysian Touhou Brigade, the Games Corner will feature a DDR machine for attendees to play free of charge. Those interested can show off their best dance moves, participate in mini-games, and stand a chance to win prizes.

Participants can also bring a nice memory from the event back home in the form of a free 4R print at the sakura-themed photobooth courtesy of Sotplugs Studio and Domain Animation. Those interested only have to like Cosplay Fantasy, Sotplugs Studio, and Domain Animation on Facebook, and a free 4R print of your photoshoot will be printed on the spot.
