This traditional event aims to introduce Wau Kapal, a locally designed kite with a trailing edge in the shape of a boat, as the state’s traditional kite to the public while nurturing society’s interest towards this traditional game and preserving it as a cultural asset.

“The event will see a Wau-flying competition for various categories, which includes higher education institutions and schools. The prizes total over RM30,000,” the statement read.

Through this event, the state government hopes to turn Selangor into national art, culture and heritage destination.

For traditional music lovers, the Manifestasi Keroncong Selangor will be held from Nov 18-20 at the Perak Jubilee Hall Auditorium at the Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Building in Shah Alam.
