Supermodel Universe Malaysia 2023 finalists revealed

The Supermodel Universe Malaysia 2023 grand finale will take place at the grand ballroom of Royale Chulan Damansara Hotel on the first week of May

The finalists vying for Supermodel Universe Malaysia 2023 were officially revealed during the 35 Top Reveal and Sashing Ceremony held at Mearcato Bistro, Pullman Kuala Lumpur, Bangsar on Feb 12.

Supermodel Universe Malaysia national director Ammetta Malhotra said the selected finalists were evaluated by a judging panel based on several criteria.

“We picked them based on their looks, their attitude and their ability to be able to commit to the training required in the competition. They had to be fit and toned and able to speak well in public and they performed well in the online interviews and call sessions.

“I am excited to announce that this year we have a very promising and talented batch of finalists with diverse interests, occupations, good charisma and positive energy.”

The Supermodel Universe Malaysia 2023 grand finale will take place at the grand ballroom of Royale Chulan Damansara Hotel, Petaling Jaya on the first week of May.

The competition is open to local and international participants, and divided into three categories: Adult Models (18-37 years old), Teen Models (13-17 years old) and Kid Models (4-12 years old)

UMMC medical doctor Venna Magarita from Kuala Lumpur said she is geared up for the event as she aspires to become the next Supermodel Universe Malaysia 2023.

“I decided to join the contest after noticing the competition offers an invaluable chance to get exposure as it raises one’s confidence in the contestants, and allows them to demonstrate their talents and passions.”

“I will be prepared to do my best and put all my energy in to achieve my goals,” said Venna who started part-time modelling at 16, then completed high school and university education to pursue a career in medicine.

She sees the competition as a great learning opportunity to better herself and meeting new people.

“I hope to experience and enjoy the fellowship opportunities and industry networking.”

For student Ashmeeta Kaur Sansoi, 17, from Subang Jaya, this is her first time as a finalist at Supermodel Universe Malaysia 2023 and she is very excited.

“I was delightfully surprised when I was picked as a finalist. This is my first pageant experience and I am looking forward to testing my abilities and giving my best,” she said.

Ashmeeta enjoys freestyle dancing in K-pop and playing piano in her free time. She is a competitive chess player of her own right, representing her state at various chess tournaments.

Another finalist, student Puteri Nurthara Nabella from Sungai Buloh, Selangor said she is ready for the competition as modelling and pageantry are her passions.

“I enjoy competition because it gives me a chance to discover my abilities besides making new friends and having a good time,” said the 17-year-old who was second runner-up in Miss Malaysia Teen Kebaya 2022.

She said her part-time job as fashion and commercial model will take a back seat this year as she will be preparing for her SPM 2023 exam.

Puteri Nurthara enjoys both realistic sketching and drawing. She also loves going to the gym whenever time permits.

“The workouts make me feel healthier and stronger and boost my confidence.”
