Antipodean coffee, a coffee chain that has gained popularity in Australia and New Zealand and is now spreading worldwide, has launched its flagship cafe in Johor Bahru.
The cafe, located at the main entrance to The Mall at Southkey, is expected to cater to local Johoreans and Singaporeans craving the award-winning coffee and breakfast/brunch cuisine the Antipodean chain is famous for.
The third Antipodean cafe to open inside an IGB property is owned and operated by Sachin and Vaishali Kulkarni, a husband and wife team. This marks the first Antipodean cafe outside Kuala Lumpur.
Founder Alun Evans, Sachin, and Vaishali Kulkarni were present on the opening day.
“We expect the cafe will be very popular. I have had so much interest expressed by people in Johor and Singapore since we first entered Malaysia in 2011,” said Evans.
From next month, Antipodean will also roast in the cafe, supplying coffee to caffeine-craving customers and selling wholesale in Johor Bahru and Singapore.
