Selangor tourism calls on bloggers to define the state’s beauty

Now bloggers from Malaysia and neighboring countries, Singapore and Indonesia would have the opportunity to appreciate and cherish Selangor state’s beauty.

Selangor tourism board is calling for local and international travel bloggers to showcase their talents by joining “My Selangor Story” blogger competition.

Aimed to be the first-of-its-kind in the country, the board will reward 30 shortlisted bloggers with a five-day-four-night trip to travel all around Selangor for free. Auto Bravaria Malaysia has stepped forward to chauffer drive bloggers with the latest model of BMW cars for travel leisure.

To be shortlisted, bloggers will just need to record a one-minute introductory video on why they should be chosen before September 5.
Only 10 best bloggers each from Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia will then qualify for the fully paid trip scheduled on September 24.

Launching the event with Komunitikini and other partners recently, Selangor exco for tourism and environment Elizabeth Wong said tourists nowadays rely much on blogs and social media resources as vital information before embarking on their journey.

“Blogs are now an important source of information for travel enthusiasts, many bloggers would share their honest experiences for others to refer.”

When asked upon tips to be shortlisted, Wong said the bloggers blogs must first enjoy a sizeable followers. She also stressed bloggers are not required to write a lengthy entry.

The contestant who creates the most creative and popular blog post would stand a chance to win RM2,500 in cash, a 3-day-2-night stay at Sunway Resort Hotel & Spa with 4 entrance tickets for Sunway Lagoon, a pair of Firefly air tickets to Terengganu, 3-day-2-night stay at Awana Kijal Terengganu, Genting Theme Park Annual Passport, a Digital camera from Pentax, a health screening voucher from Tropicana Hospital and an opportunity to dine for free at Haven Restaurant at Ampang Lookout Point.

Other categories comprise the Most Creative Blog, Best Write-up, Most Interactive Blog, Best Photo and Best Video.
