Parking woes at SS15 could soon end when a multi-level car park is erected right next to the morning market in the short future.
The councillor of JKP Zone 1 Theresa Ratnam Thong said the upcoming project will be able accommodate 2000 to 3000 cars at the business district that also houses three colleges and a busy hawker centre.
“The chosen site is where a current community hall is situated. We will have to demolish the hall and build a multi-level building with an auditorium.”
She said the project finalisation will be done within two months.
She announced the news to some 200 residents of SS 17 at an evening dialogue with Subang Jaya assemblyperson Hannah Yeoh.
A resident suggested the car park be built over the monsoon drain beside SS15, since land at the proposed site will cost MPSJ dearly.
Theresa responded that the land is MPSJ property.
Residents to meet Prasarana on July 1
Meanwhile Hannah who leads the Subang Jaya LRT Task Force wanted more communication from Prasarana regarding their proposed stations in Subang Jaya.
“The residents have many unanswered questions, especially on the stations’ proximity to houses, noise, the facilities and safety concerns.
“The resident-based task force has filed in more than 200 (responses) to (Prasarana), but all we got in return was just a letter saying the proposed locations will favour the majority and they are proceeding.
“But how are they going to justify a station which is just 4m away from the Saujana Residency condominium at SS16?”
She said residents, MPSJ and other stakeholders will be attending the mini exco meeting with the state planning committee and Prasarana on July 1.
Subang Ria Park: Sime Darby application rejected
She also updated the residents with the latest development of Subang Ria Park.
“MPSJ earlier this month has rejected the application of Sime Darby to sub-divide the land for commercial development.”
The state, she said, has gazetted the local draft plan submitted earlier by MPSJ to maintain the park as a recreational park. Hence the application was rejected as it contradicted the plan.
Hannah also reminded the JKP Zone 1 residents to display their security stickers on their cars.
She said intruders to the neighbourhood can be easily identified once everybody does so.
The sticker is a project under the Safe Neighbourhood Campaign.
