Lazada Malaysia partners with Paralympic Council Malaysia for Lazada Run, promoting inclusivity and supporting athletes with disabilities

In a remarkable display of corporate social responsibility, Lazada Malaysia has joined forces with the Paralympic Council Malaysia (PCM) to organize the Lazada Run, an event aimed at promoting inclusivity and supporting athletes with disabilities. The free 1-kilometer route, held on July 16, 2023, in Cyberjaya, witnessed the participation of 40 para-athletes, showcasing their skills and determination.

This collaborative initiative by Lazada and PCM exemplifies their commitment to making society more inclusive for persons with disabilities. It aligns with the #WeThe15 Campaign, a global effort to address the needs and rights of the 1.2 billion people worldwide who live with disabilities.

Dato’ Sri Megat D. Shahriman Dato’ Zaharudin, President of PCM, received a mock cheque amounting to RM50,000.00 from Mr. Alan Chan, Chief Executive Officer of Lazada Malaysia. The generous contribution will support PCM’s various initiatives, including the TambahEMAS Paris 2024 campaign, which aims to provide greater opportunities and resources for Malaysian para-athletes.

The Lazada Run witnessed an inspiring performance by Mohammad Azri bin Azman, who secured the first place in the 1-kilometer paralympic category, displaying his exceptional athletic prowess. The event was flagged off by YB Hannah Yeoh, Minister of Youth and Sports, adding prestige to the occasion. A staggering number of 8,000 individuals participated in the run, making it a truly memorable event.
