Galaxy Banquet in Sentul, Kuala Lumpur, was transformed into a dazzling spectacle on the 29th of July 2023, as Dr. Mellisa Wong was crowned Mrs. Malaysia International World 2023. The prestigious pageant, which celebrated the achievements of married women in cultural diversity, philanthropy, and women’s empowerment, was an evening filled with glitz and glamour.
Dr. Mellisa, as the newly crowned queen, will now take on the role of an ambassador of goodwill, representing Malaysia both nationally and internationally. Her mission is to promote cultural diversity, empower women, and contribute to meaningful philanthropic causes, embodying the very essence of the Mrs. Malaysia International World pageant.
She expressed her gratitude and excitement on Instagram, thanking Datin Sharon Toh, the pageant’s founder, for providing a platform that allows married women to embrace their beauty and voices. She also praised the National Director, Ms. Sharon Jasmin, for her unwavering support and encouragement throughout the journey.

The newly crowned queen credited her success to the unwavering support of her loved ones and mentors who played a significant role in her journey to the crown. She mentioned the challenges she overcame, including shedding 11kgs of postpartum weight, rigorous pageant training, and honing her talents to perfection with the help of experts, including martial arts National level Silver medalist, Jai Ganesh.
“To my darling pageant sisters, I have adored all of your hard work and dedication. Each one of you has such great talent in you, and together we made our Grand Finals a huge success” Dr. Mellisa Wong wrote, showing appreciation for her fellow contestants.
Impressing both judges and the audience with her grace and poise, Dr. Mellisa also earned the titles of Best Evening Gown and Mrs. Congeniality. The panel of esteemed judges, including Winnie Loo, Melissa Seow, Maria Chan, Dr. Yeoh Tze Ming, and Sharwita from Le Fashion Secret, faced the difficult task of selecting the deserving winner from the pool of talented contestants.
The pageant celebrated other outstanding women as well, with Dr. Malini Kerisnan being named the 1st Runner Up and recognized for her exceptional national costume, earning her the coveted Best National Costume award. Eunice Yap, Fiona Yalina, and Cecily Andrews Fourier were named 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Runners Up, respectively.
