GWM Malaysia’s ORA Good Cat conversion plan eases EV transition

Accelerate EV adoption with GWM Malaysia’s Easy Conversion Plan this September: test drives, trade-ins, and more for the Ora Good Cat.

Great Wall Motor (GWM) Malaysia has unveiled a groundbreaking plan to ease the transition from Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) vehicles to Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV). The ICE to BEV Easy Conversion Plan, introduced for the ORA Good Cat, offers a comprehensive package aimed at addressing the concerns of potential EV owners. This initiative, available until September 30, 2023, includes a 2-day extensive test drive, trade-in assistance for ICE vehicles, RM1,000 in charging credits, and a complimentary accessory.

The centerpiece of the plan is the two-day test drive in the ORA Good Cat, allowing prospective customers to experience electric vehicle driving at their own pace. This immersive experience is designed to alleviate concerns such as range anxiety and charging facility accessibility.

Mike Cui, Managing Director of GWM Malaysia, emphasized the company’s commitment to addressing customer concerns, stating, “We take our customers’ concerns seriously in regard to the challenges they are facing to consider fully electric vehicles due to many uncertainties and questions such as range anxiety, charging facilities incompetence, and more. Hence, the Easy Conversion Plan could help to resolve their concerns.”

Making the switch to electric vehicles easier

In addition to the test drive, the conversion plan offers trade-in assistance for ICE vehicles, making it easier for customers to switch to EVs. Furthermore, buyers of the ORA Good Cat will receive RM1,000 in charging credits, which can be used at selected EV charging stations. To sweeten the deal, customers will also receive a free accessory as a gift.

The ORA Good Cat comes with several attractive features, including high-quality cabin materials, a 7-inch cluster display, and an electronic driver massage seat. It offers L2-level driving assistance functions such as Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Forward Collision Warning (FCW), lane-keeping assistance, and a 360-degree surrounding camera, along with an auto emergency braking system.

The vehicle is built on GWM’s L.E.M.O.N. platform, which stands for lightweight, electrification, multi-purpose, Omni-protection, and network. It boasts five driving modes: Normal, Sport, Eco, Eco+, and Auto.

Buyers of the ORA Good Cat can enjoy additional benefits, including a 5-year or up to 150,000 km warranty, a complimentary home and portable charger, and an impressive 8-year or up to 180,000 km battery warranty.

Celebrating the production of the 400,000th ORA Good Cat

This initiative coincides with a significant milestone for GWM, as the 400,000th unit of the ORA Good Cat rolled off its production line in China. This achievement underscores the growing popularity of the brand and its commitment to the EV market.
