30 Cars to journey across Malaysia in support of gender equality

In anticipation of Violence Against Women and Girls month in November, the Practical Classic Drivers (PCD) team is gearing up to unveil “Rentas Peninsular 2.0: We for She,” a philanthropic initiative designed not only to raise awareness and funds for the Women’s Aid Organisation (WAO) but also to emphasize the pivotal role of male allyship in addressing gender-based violence. This exciting event is scheduled to take place from November 15th to 18th, 2023, and will feature the participation of 30 classic cars embarking on an inspiring journey across the Malaysian peninsula.

For over four decades, the WAO has been at the forefront of the battle against gender-based violence. Their unwavering commitment to providing assistance, advocacy, and empowerment to women and girls affected by domestic abuse has been commendable. WAO’s dedicated case management and advocacy team has worked closely with the Malaysian government to reform laws and create a safer environment for women and girls in the nation.

This charity drive, set to commence on November 16th from the Klang Valley, symbolizes not only a physical journey but also a metaphorical one. The drive will take participants through picturesque routes, including Segamat, Muazam Pahang, Kuala Terengganu, and finally concluding at Kuala Perlis, creating opportunities for meaningful conversations about the importance of male allyship.
