Councillors under the previous Selangor state administration worked without personal assistants while the current batch have someone to help them handle matters in their zones.

Awtar Singh, who was formerly a councillor with the Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ), thought it was unnecessary for councillors to have an assistant as they could do the work by themselves.
