P&G and MYDIN unite for monsoon flood relief

Procter & Gamble and MYDIN unite for “Bersama Demi Semua” monsoon flood relief campaign, providing hope and aid to affected communities.

In a groundbreaking partnership, Procter & Gamble (P&G), a leading global consumer goods company, has teamed up with MYDIN, Malaysia’s homegrown wholesale and retail chain, to launch the “Bersama Demi Semua” campaign. This initiative is aimed at raising funds for communities grappling with the aftermath of Malaysia’s annual monsoon floods.

From November 6, 2023, to January 6, 2024, every RM10 purchase of P&G products will contribute 5 cents to the relief fund. As the campaign concludes, MYDIN supermarkets will serve as the procurement center for essential items destined for flood victims.

Country Manager of P&G Malaysia and Singapore, Mr. Nantha Kumaran Kalimuthu, expressed, “At P&G, our people and our brands are committed to doing acts of good every day to help communities grow as a force for growth and a force for good. This collaboration with MYDIN further emphasizes our dedication to the communities we touch.”

The previous year witnessed Malaysia facing its most severe flooding, affecting thousands of people across the country. In response to this dire situation, the Malaysian government has earmarked a significant budget for flood relief and disaster management in 2024. Managing Director of MYDIN, Datuk Wira (Dr) Hj. Ameer Ali Bin Mydin, stated, “Following our triumphant ‘Ourdin’ campaign, which we launched a few years back, we are delighted to be able to run a similar flood relief fundraising program and privileged to align with such a global powerhouse like P&G. This partnership not only mirrors MYDIN’s core values of community service and integrity but also strengthens our pledge to perpetual giving.”
