UPM graduates 109 new veterinarians

UPM’s 46th Oath Ceremony celebrates a milestone as 109 graduates from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine officially become Dr. Veterinarians.

In a momentous occasion, 109 graduates from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (FPV) at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) have officially joined the ranks of registered veterinarians. The 46th Oath Ceremony and Prize Presentation Session held at the FPV UPM Auditorium marked a joyous culmination of years of hard work and dedication.

The ceremony was graced by esteemed guests, including YBrs. Dr. Akma Ngah Hamid, Director General of the Department of Veterinary Services (DVS) and President and Registrar of the Malaysian Veterinary Council, as well as YBhg. Professor Dato’ Dr. Mohd Azmi Mohd Lila, Dean of FPV UPM. Also in attendance were deputy deans, heads of departments, lecturers, proud parents, and the graduates themselves.

Formalizing the journey

A total of 109 graduates, having completed their Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree, took the solemn oath that officially registered them as Dr. Veterinarians with the Malaysian Veterinary Council Association (MAVMA). The ceremony, a result of the collaborative efforts between MAVMA and FPV UPM, symbolized the dignification of the veterinary profession.

Meiyappan Raja, a jubilant graduate, expressed his happiness, stating, “I’m actually very happy today. All my batch graduated, so as of today, we can all call ourselves doctors. It’s a very proud thing to say.” The sentiment echoed by Meiyappan reflects the collective pride and accomplishment felt by the entire graduating class.
