Muay Thai prodigy ‘Jojo’ stuns with 36-second victory

In a spectacular display of skill and determination, Malaysia’s Muay Thai sensation, Muhamad Johan ‘Jojo’ Ghazali Zulfikar, marked his debut on the Primetime US stage of ONE Championship with a breathtaking 36-second knockout victory over WBC International Muay Thai champion Edgar Tabares from Mexico.

The 17-year-old Jojo, hailing from Rentap Muay Thai Gym, exhibited his prowess in the Catchweight category at the Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, during ONE Fight Night 17. Reflecting on the significance of his win on the big stage, Jojo remarked, “It’s amazing. I will continue my mission to become the youngest ONE Championship Muay Thai champion.”

This victory adds another feather to Jojo’s cap, bringing his unbeaten streak to an impressive five wins since joining ONE Championship in February of this year. His journey with the martial arts organization began with a historic achievement on October 7, where he became the youngest athlete ever to secure a contract with ONE Championship, earning a Thailand contract valued at US$100,000 (RM467,000).
