In a shocking development, IGB REIT Management Sdn Bhd has officially announced the untimely demise of its joint Chief Operating Officer, Daniel Yong Chen-I, on Tuesday. The cause of death has been confirmed as sudden cardiac arrest.

Daniel Yong, a distinguished law graduate from the University of Bristol, England, had been an integral part of Mid Valley City Sdn Bhd (MVC) since 1999. His journey with the company began as a member of the pre-opening retail development team, showcasing his dedication and commitment to the organization’s growth.

In 2003, Yong was appointed as the executive director of MVC, and later assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer, where he played a pivotal role in overseeing the management and operations of the iconic Mid Valley Megamall. His leadership and vision contributed significantly to the success of the renowned shopping destination.

Moreover, Daniel Yong was actively involved in the design and pre-opening phases of The Gardens Mall from 2004 to 2007, leaving an indelible mark on the landscape of retail development.
