AirAsia introduces 22,000 fixed-fare seats for Hari Raya travel

AirAsia offers fixed fares for late-night flights between Peninsular and East Malaysia, enabling affordable travel for Hari Raya celebrations.

AirAsia has announced the launch of over 22,000 seats at fixed fares for late-night flights between Peninsular and East Malaysia in a bid to bring families and loved ones closer during the upcoming Hari Raya celebration. This initiative aims to enable more Malaysians to return home for the festivities, fostering the spirit of togetherness.

From April 5 to April 17, 2024, passengers can secure one-way tickets between Kuala Lumpur and Kuching, Sibu, Bintulu, or Miri, as well as between Johor Bahru and Kuching, Sibu, or Miri at the affordable rate of RM298*. Similarly, flights between Kuala Lumpur and Kota Kinabalu, Sandakan, or Tawau, and Johor Bahru and Kota Kinabalu will be priced at RM348* one-way.

These promotional fares are available for booking from today until April 17, 2024, on the airline’s official website, airasia.com, and the AirAsia MOVE app.

122 late-night flights on 11 routes

In addition to the fixed fares initiative, AirAsia will operate 122 late-night flights on 11 routes between Peninsular and East Malaysia. The airline is also committed to providing 735 weekly flights with regular fares to Sabah, Sarawak, and Labuan in alignment with the government’s efforts to enhance connectivity during the festive season.

Malaysia’s Minister of Transport, YB Anthony Loke, expressed his support for the initiative, emphasizing the government’s commitment to affordable air travel for Malaysians. He stated, “These commitments represent a collaborative effort with industry players such as AirAsia to ensure the welfare of Malaysians.”

The recent announcement of a maximum fare cap of RM599 for one-way economy class flights to Sabah, Sarawak, and Labuan during the days leading up to Hari Raya Aidilfitri reflects the government’s proactive approach to meeting the needs of travelers while promoting inclusivity and affordability.

Bo Lingam, Group CEO of AirAsia Aviation Group, highlighted the airline’s role in reuniting families and loved ones during the festive season. He acknowledged the dedication of AirAsia’s staff and expressed the company’s commitment to ensuring affordable and safe travel.

As part of preparations for the peak travel period, guests are encouraged to self-check-in using the AirAsia MOVE app, available up to 14 days before the departure date. Additionally, passengers are advised to arrive at least two hours ahead of the scheduled departure time for domestic flights to allow for the efficient clearing of all travel formalities.
