Goodday Milk proudly announces the much-anticipated return of Goodday KidSTART 2.0, building on the resounding success of its inaugural event in 2023. With an increased prize pool of RM60,000, the program reaffirms Goodday Milk’s commitment to fostering entrepreneurial spirit, financial literacy, and vital life skills among Malaysian youth aged 7 to 14.
Recognized as Malaysia’s premier kid-preneur initiative by the Malaysia Book of Records (MBOR), Goodday KidSTART debuted in 2022, attracting 340 submissions from young talents nationwide. The inaugural edition culminated in a thrilling two-day workshop and pitching event held at Aloft, KL, where 10-year-old Fatimah Basyeerah Binti Mohamed Ackiel from Dengkil emerged victorious with her stroke cognitive skills recovery software application, designed to aid stroke patients, earning her RM20,000 to realize her entrepreneurial dreams.
This year, Goodday KidSTART endeavors to further elevate its impact, aligning with findings from the Malaysia National Strategy for Financial Literacy (2019-2023) that highlight deficiencies in financial management among Malaysians. With statistics revealing that only 30% of parents impart financial literacy knowledge to their children, Goodday Milk aims to bridge this gap by empowering young minds with entrepreneurial skills and sound financial acumen from an early age.
Empowering young minds
To engage participants and spark creativity, Goodday KidSTART 2.0 will conduct a series of online webinars covering crucial topics such as Business Model, Design Thinking, Effective Presentation, Creative Problem Solving Skills, and Environmental Entrepreneurship. Additionally, with the endorsement of the Ministry of Education (MOE), Goodday will embark on a nationwide school tour to encourage participation, offering a RM10,000 reward to the school with the highest number of entrants.
Amy Gan, Vice President of Marketing at Etika, expressed enthusiasm for the program’s potential impact, emphasizing its role in nurturing the next generation of Malaysian entrepreneurs. “Goodday KidSTART 2.0 is more than a competition; it’s an investment in the future of our youth,” Gan stated, highlighting the program’s dual focus on financial literacy and personal growth.
With submissions open from March 1st to May 31st, parents are encouraged to submit a short video showcasing their child’s business pitch via the Goodday Milk Malaysia website. Successful applicants will advance to the next stage, where they will participate in a rigorous boot camp and finale in June 2024, receiving mentorship and guidance to refine their ideas.
Cash prizes totaling RM60,000 await the winners, alongside the prestigious Rising Star award sponsored by Alliance Bank Malaysia, offering an additional RM3,000 to the most promising young entrepreneur.
Goodday KidSTART 2.0 promises to be a transformative journey for aspiring kid-preneurs, empowering them to turn their innovative ideas into reality while equipping them with invaluable skills for the future.
