Bigo Live’s ‘Riang Ramadan Raya’ campaign unites Malaysians for charity, providing joy and support to Pertubuhan Kebajikan Asnaf Al-Barakh students.

Bigo Live, a prominent global livestreaming platform, recently orchestrated a heartwarming initiative titled ‘Riang Ramadan Raya’ in Malaysia, uniting broadcasters and fans for a noble cause during the holy month of Ramadan.

The campaign, held in the spirit of generosity, featured various activities aimed at spreading joy and extending support to the community. A highlight of the campaign was the ‘Sing For Charity’ in-app livestream competition, which took place from April 1 to 5. During this period, broadcasters showcased their talents through live performances of traditional Hari Raya songs, captivating audiences across the nation.

Vivi He, the Country Manager for Malaysia at Bigo Live, expressed her enthusiasm for the initiative, stating, “Hari Raya is a day of celebration, and we believe that every child deserves the happiness and love that this day brings.” She further emphasized the significance of the online and offline events in bringing joy to participants and supporting the children from Pertubuhan Kebajikan Asnaf Al-Barakh, who received new ‘baju raya’ (festive attire) and ‘duit raya’ packets.

‘Sing For Charity’ livestream competition

The ‘Sing For Charity’ Music Livehouse, a series of livestreamed sessions featuring performances by Malaysian musicians and artists, saw the participation of 60 broadcasters from five agencies. These sessions, held on the Bigo Live app, attracted audiences with their lively renditions of Hari Raya melodies. The agency CikbossEmpire emerged as the top performer, earning recognition and 60,000 Bigo Beans, the platform’s virtual currency.

Ayra Arissa, one of the broadcasters, expressed gratitude for the opportunity provided by Bigo Live to contribute to such an honorable cause, stating, “We love the platform and opportunity provided by Bigo Live for us to showcase our talent and use it for such an honorable cause.”

In a heartwarming gesture, Bigo Live donated MYR 8,500 (USD 1800) to Pertubuhan Kebajikan Asnaf Al-Barakh, which was utilized to provide ‘duit raya’ funds and new sets of ‘baju raya’ for the students. The agency’s 12 Bigo Live broadcasters accompanied 47 students for a memorable day of baju raya shopping at Sunway Putra Mall in Kuala Lumpur. The event not only brought joy to the children but also raised awareness about the importance of giving back to the community.

A representative from Pertubuhan Kebajikan Asnaf Al-Barakh expressed gratitude to Bigo Live for their efforts in making this year’s Hari Raya special for the students, highlighting the significance of the event in spreading awareness about charity.
