JAECOO unveils J7 SUV’s off-road mastery at M4TREC

JAECOO Malaysia recently unveiled its maiden premium SUV model, the J7, showcasing its exceptional off-road prowess at the Malaysia 4WD Training and Experience Centre (M4TREC) in Semenyih. The rigorous testing ground provided a challenging circuit comprising six dynamic terrains, where drivers and passengers experienced firsthand the J7’s superior off-road capabilities.

Leo Chen, President of JAECOO Malaysia, emphasized the brand’s unique appeal, stating, “JAECOO is redefining how drivers enjoy the urban off-road driving experience with sophisticated style, as embodied in the brand’s ethos, ‘From Classic, Beyond Classic’.” He further added, “The J7 promises superior driving control to navigate various weather and road conditions, as well as terrains.”

Emily Lek, Vice President of JAECOO Malaysia, highlighted the increasing demands placed on SUVs today, stating, “The expectations on SUVs today are higher and more demanding than ever in line with the dynamic driving conditions drivers face today.” She emphasized the importance of showcasing the J7’s capabilities at M4TREC, providing drivers with the confidence to explore adventures off the beaten track fearlessly.

Exploring the J7’s dynamic features

The J7 incorporates the advanced All-Road Drive Intelligent System (ARDIS) with seven terrain driving modes, including specific modes for sand, mud, snowfield, and off-road terrains. Its water wading capacity of 600 mm excelled in M4TREC’s challenging environment, demonstrating the model’s unparalleled capability.

A significant feature aiding in navigation through the obstacle course was the SUV’s 540-degree camera, providing drivers with dynamic visuals on a 14.8-inch infotainment screen. Equipped with a 1.6TGDI engine delivering 194 HP and 290Nm of torque, coupled with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (7-DCT), the J7 offers lightning-fast shifting speed, empowering off-road adventurers to conquer unpredictable terrains.

JAECOO Malaysia tested the J7 through various challenging terrains at M4TREC, including side slope, frame twister, ridge crossing, roller ramp, and water wading environments. The SUV’s intuitive driving control and advanced technology make it a formidable contender in the premium SUV segment, promising drivers an unparalleled off-road experience.
