The first stage of the STATUS 200 coding bootcamp for Malaysian youths commenced in Kuala Lumpur on June 17. Organized by the international broker Octa in collaboration with Ideas International, this innovative three-stage training program aims to equip students with valuable coding skills and enhance their career opportunities. The initial phase runs from June 17 to June 30, with subsequent stages to follow for those who progress.

The STATUS 200 bootcamp represents a significant partnership between Octa, a globally recognized financial broker serving clients in over 180 countries, and Ideas International, a Kuala Lumpur-based secondary school dedicated to offering an inclusive education to students from diverse backgrounds. This initiative is a testament to both organizations’ commitment to fostering practical skills and career readiness among Malaysian youths.

The program’s application window is now closed, having successfully attracted 33 participants through an open call for applications and an additional 8 students supported by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). The diverse group of participants, ranging from experienced coders to novices eager to embark on their tech careers, expressed in their cover letters a strong desire to learn from industry experts and connect with like-minded peers.
