Proton unveils its first EV, the e.MAS 7, featuring advanced battery tech, a 218 PS motor, and an extensive dealership network

Proton, in collaboration with Geely, has unveiled its first electric vehicle (EV), the Proton e.MAS 7, less than two months after introducing the eMas brand. The e.MAS 7 marks a significant milestone in Proton’s history as it embarks on a new journey in the EV market.

The vehicle is built on the Global Modular Architecture (GMA) platform and features the advanced Aegis Short Blade Battery technology, providing a remarkable energy density and durability of up to 3500 cycles. The 82.5 kg electric motor boasts an impressive energy efficiency of 90.04%.

The Proton e.MAS 7 is based on the Geely Galaxy E5, falling into the compact SUV category. It is equipped with a 160 kW single electric motor, delivering 218 PS, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.8 seconds, with a top speed of 175 km/h. Customers can choose between two battery options: 49.52 kW and 60.22 kW, which offer a driving range of 440 km and 530 km, respectively, according to the CLTC standards. These specifications make the e.MAS 7 a competitive contender in the EV market, promising both performance and efficiency.
