AniManGaki (AMG), one of Malaysia’s premier annual celebrations of animation, comics, and gaming (ACG), has announced the addition of the esteemed manga artist and illustrator, Miwa Shirow, as the fourth Special Guest for the upcoming 2024 event. Renowned for his diverse and impactful works, Miwa Shirow’s presence is set to elevate the excitement surrounding AMG2024.
A versatile creative force from Japan
Miwa Shirow hails from the Toyama prefecture in Japan and made his professional debut in 1999 with “BLACK MIND” in Shueisha’s Ultra Jump magazine. His creative portfolio is extensive, featuring notable works such as “Dogs: Stray Dogs Howling in the Dark” and its continuation, “DOGS/BULLETS&CARNAGE.”
He has also made significant contributions to the animation and gaming industries with character designs and illustrations for popular titles including the anime series “Joker Game” and “Kiznaiver,” as well as the games “7th Dragon 2020,” “Soul Hackers 2,” and “Fate/Grand Order.”
Beyond his manga and game design work, Miwa Shirow is also a member of the Japanese music unit supercell, where he is responsible for the unit’s illustrations, logo design, and even outfit design.
AniManGaki 2024 promises to offer fans an exclusive opportunity to interact with Miwa Shirow through a live drawing session and a mini exhibition showcasing his works. These sessions are anticipated to be a highlight of the event, providing fans with a unique glimpse into his creative process. Details regarding Meet & Greet sessions and exclusive merchandise will be announced in the coming weeks, ensuring fans have ample opportunities to engage with the artist and his work.
