Infinix, a leading tech brand for the youth, has officially launched the second edition of the Mobile Vlog Awards (MVA) 2024, a global competition designed to empower young creators to express their unique perspectives through vlogging. With the slogan “Capture Your Own Story” and the theme “Your Story, Your Style,” participants from around the world are encouraged to showcase their creativity and storytelling abilities using the latest in mobile technology.
Running on TikTok with the hashtag #InfinixMVA, this year’s contest promises exciting opportunities for young creators, including in-depth discussions with industry leaders and up to RM43,000 worth of TikTok boosts.
A Platform for Youth Expression
The MVA 2024, powered by Infinix’s flagship ZERO 40 5G smartphone, is more than just a competition; it’s a platform for global youth to express their creativity and share their stories. The awards focus on the artistic potential of vertical filmmaking, encouraging participants to push the boundaries of vlogging as a creative medium. Infinix’s vision is to use the competition to foster cultural exchange and create a “global youth ethnography”—a collection of vlogs that capture the diverse experiences and vibrant lives of young people worldwide.
“The inaugural launch last year, in collaboration with the Venice Film Festival, attracted over 44,000 submissions globally. This year, we aim to further elevate vlogging as a powerful medium for cultural dialogue,” said Lake Hu, Vice General Manager and Chief Marketing Officer of Infinix.
Pro-Level Tools for Aspiring Vloggers
To inspire participants and raise the standard of mobile vlogging, Infinix has introduced the ZERO 40 5G, a smartphone equipped with pro-level videography tools. Its features include 4K front and rear video capabilities, 50MP ultra-wide lenses, and AI-powered editing tools, all designed to simplify the creation of high-quality vlogs. The device’s GoPro integration and AI Vlog tools enable users to capture professional-grade content with ease, lowering the creative threshold for aspiring vloggers.
“We want to empower creators to push the limits of mobile videography, elevating their storytelling to new heights. With the ZERO 40 5G, everyday users can create professional-quality vlogs,” explained Weiqi Nie, Product Director at Infinix.
Meet the Experts Guiding MVA 2024
One of the most exciting aspects of MVA 2024 is the diverse panel of judges, who bring expertise from various fields of art, technology, and video creation. Leading the panel is Moritz Neumüller, a global curator with ties to the Museum of Modern Art, who will guide participants in unlocking the artistic potential of their vlogs. Neumüller seeks entries that challenge the norm, offering fresh perspectives and pushing the boundaries of the vlogging medium.
Joining him is Joshua Guvi, a popular content creator known for his cinematic travel vlogs, and Saurabh Shukla, a GoPro award-winning filmmaker renowned for capturing the raw essence of street and travel scenes. These experts will provide valuable insights and help shape the future of mobile vlogging by mentoring participants and selecting the best entries based on creativity, storytelling, and technical skills.
Exciting Prizes and Opportunities Await
Participants in MVA 2024 stand a chance to win exciting prizes, including a Grand Prize “Best Vlogging Award” worth RM43,000 in TikTok boosts. Other categories, such as Best Creative Award, Best Storytelling Award, and Best Film Editing Award, will also recognize exceptional creators, with winners receiving Infinix ZERO smartphones and Creator Toolkits. Additionally, winners will be crowned as “Infinix Vlog Ambassadors,” gaining recognition on a global stage.
