TRX brings Deepavali spirit alive with Symphony of Lights

The Exchange TRX, Kuala Lumpur’s newest social landmark, has launched its first Deepavali celebration titled Symphony of Lights, which runs from today until 3 November 2024. Designed to honor Malaysia’s multicultural heritage, this immersive festival features a spectacular combination of vibrant décor, traditional cultural performances, and specially curated shopping and dining experiences that celebrate the essence of Deepavali.

Jessica Leong, Head of Marketing at The Exchange TRX, expressed excitement about the celebration’s inaugural debut. “Deepavali is a time that goes beyond family and togetherness—it’s a celebration that unites people from all walks of life to appreciate Malaysia’s rich and diverse cultural heritage. At The Exchange TRX, we embrace this diversity, ensuring that every celebration here creates shared moments and lasting connections for all,” she said.

A mesmerising light installation

The centerpiece of Symphony of Lights is an awe-inspiring light installation located at the Ground Floor, between Uniqlo and MUJI, symbolizing the triumph of light over darkness. This installation captures the essence of Deepavali through the image of a peacock’s tail, an enduring symbol of beauty, prosperity, and renewal. Illuminated with delicate bokeh lights, the display reflects the gentle glow of traditional Deepavali oil lamps, evoking themes of new beginnings and celebration.

Visitors are further treated to an array of traditional cultural performances scheduled for weekends throughout the event. These include the classical Odissi dance, showcasing intricate and expressive movements, the graceful Peacock Dance, and the enchanting Diya Dance, all of which encapsulate the spirit and rich cultural tapestry of the festival.

Enriching retail and dining experiences

The Deepavali celebrations at The Exchange TRX extend beyond visual and cultural displays, offering a specially curated retail and dining experience that enhances the festive mood. Guests can browse a wide selection of festive attire, shop for gifts, and immerse themselves in intricate kolam designs throughout the venue. Several participating restaurants offer unique Deepavali-themed menus, blending festive flavors with local culinary artistry, allowing guests to celebrate through both taste and ambiance.

In the spirit of Deepavali, guests are invited to participate in a special Instagram contest by sharing their comments on The Exchange TRX’s official post. Creative entries stand a chance to win dining vouchers from Saffron and Spices, as well as exclusive items from Lovely Lace. Additionally, customers who spend RM 1,500 (or RM 1,200 for UOB cardholders) in a maximum of two receipts will receive a Lovely Lace scented candle and exclusive Deepavali packets. For UOB cardholders, a single receipt worth RM 600 or more qualifies them for a RM 60 Seibu cash voucher.
