Miss CosmoWorld 2024: A celebration of beauty and diversity

The Miss CosmoWorld 2024 Grand Final brought an evening of elegance and empowerment to The St. Regis Hotel in Kuala Lumpur on November 20, 2024. Featuring 32 contestants from across the globe, the event celebrated the essence of resilience, diversity, and female empowerment.

With a prize pool of RM1,000,000, the competition underscored the transformative power of women breaking barriers and embracing leadership roles. The audience witnessed dazzling performances, cultural expressions, and moments that resonated with the pageant’s theme of global unity.

The top honors went to Valeriya Sizova of Australia, crowned as Miss CosmoWorld 2024. Iceland’s Thordis Asa Dungal and the Philippines’ Samantha Viktoria Acosta secured the positions of first and second runners-up, respectively. Alongside the main awards, contestants competed for 10 special titles, such as Best National Costume, Miss Talent, and Miss Glamorous, showcasing their unique strengths and talents.

Malaysia’s very own Yong Ke Ling shone brightly, winning the Best National Costume award, sponsored by Hyatt Place Bukit Jalil KL and presented by Datin Wira Melissa Chung.

A Meaningful Journey to the Crown

The journey began with a press conference on November 14, 2024, at Hyatt Place Kuala Lumpur, Bukit Jalil, the official venue sponsor. The event highlighted the pageant’s mission to redefine beauty by emphasizing leadership and positive social impact. Founder Carrie Lee Sze Kei shared her vision of empowering women, drawing from her personal experience as a beauty queen.

Beyond the glitz, the contestants participated in a cultural exchange trip to Malacca, exploring historical sites and promoting Malaysian tourism. They also engaged in community initiatives, such as a badminton tournament and AED/CPR training sessions organized in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Bandar Utama. These activities reflected the pageant’s commitment to fostering holistic growth and community impact.

Miss CosmoWorld 2024 placed significant emphasis on emotional intelligence (EQ) as a core element of the competition. The contestants underwent mentorship sessions focusing on self-awareness, empathy, motivation, and social skills, guided by an International Image Brand Consultant. Ms. Carrie Lee, during her speech at the Grand Final, reiterated the importance of EQ and shared her aspirations for contestants to emerge as global ambassadors of empowerment. Distinguished guests, including Y.M. Tengku Dato’ Dr. Hishammuddin Zaizi and Y.B. Senator Datuk Seri Dr. Zurainah Musa, further enriched the evening with their presence and support for the cause.
