La FIORIRE empowers Segambut with free haircuts and training

La FIORIRE partners with KSM to launch the “Cut & Learn Programme,” offering free haircuts and hairdressing training to uplift the Segambut community.

La FIORIRE DSP Global Sdn Bhd, a renowned Korean hair salon located in 1 Mont Kiara Mall, is partnering with the Korean Society of Malaysia (KSM) and the Office of the Segambut Member of Parliament (MP) to launch a transformative initiative called the “Cut & Learn Programme.” This program aims to uplift deserving individuals in Segambut by offering free haircuts and professional training, creating pathways to employment and self-reliance.

Building a Brighter Future

The “Cut & Learn Programme” is a two-pronged initiative designed to uplift the Segambut community. First, it will provide free haircuts to 250 B40 residents every month. Valued at RM88 for men and RM108 for women, these haircuts aim to boost self-confidence and empower individuals through professional grooming.

Second, the program will offer a six-month professional hairdressing training program to 20 selected participants. This intensive training, valued between RM10,000 to RM15,000 per individual, falls under the Rakan Muda initiative, Rakan Mahir. This training will equip participants with the skills and knowledge to pursue careers in the hairdressing industry, opening doors to new opportunities and financial stability.

Collaboration Makes the Dream Work

The program’s genesis lies in a collaborative effort. “The ‘Cut & Learn Programme’ is a remarkable initiative spearheaded by one of our tenants, Tony Kim Bumjin, Director of La FIORIRE,” said Sylvia Low, General Manager of 1 Mont Kiara. “He brought the idea to the attention of KSM Chairman Kim Jong Hwa and later to YB Hannah Yeoh, whose immediate support led to the signing of the MOU.”

1 Mont Kiara Mall is proud to support such impactful endeavors by its tenants. “This initiative exemplifies the lasting value that can be created through community-driven efforts,” Ms. Low emphasized. “Beyond offering free haircuts, La FIORIRE is empowering young individuals with professional training to become skilled hair designers, paving the way for meaningful careers and brighter futures.”

Accessible Care for All

The “Cut & Learn Programme” prioritizes accessibility. While haircuts will be provided at La FIORIRE’s flagship salon, the program will also conduct on-site visits to schools and community hubs. This ensures that the services reach those most in need within the Segambut area.

This collaboration between La FIORIRE, KSM, and the Segambut MP’s Office signifies a commitment to empower the Segambut community. Through free haircuts and professional training, the program aims to boost self-confidence, equip individuals with valuable skills, and ultimately create a brighter future.
