The Actors Studio Academy @ klpac invites aspiring performers of all ages to explore their creative potential during its Open Day 2025 on January 11 and 12. With free trial classes ranging from Speech and Drama to Bollywood dance and even traditional Malay gamelan, the event promises an enriching experience for participants.
Free Trial Classes: A Gateway to Creative Expression
Designed to cater to children and adults, the Open Day’s trial classes offer an array of opportunities to explore performing arts. For children aged 3 to 18, Speech and Drama taster classes provide a glimpse into one of the Academy’s flagship programs. These classes not only enhance creativity but also instill confidence, communication, and teamwork skills.
Dance enthusiasts can dive into K-Pop and More! classes led by Lee A, blending K-Pop beats with urban choreography for ages 7 and up. Bollywood and Tamil culture take center stage in Desi Grooves by Ahgi, a choreo-fusion class for ages 8 and above. Those interested in contemporary dance can join award-winning choreographer Zhafir Muzani’s teaser class, perfect for participants aged 16 and above.
For adults seeking something different, the Open Day features niche programs such as the Art of Nanyang Shaolin “Staff” Technique by Master Leng. This timeless martial arts practice focuses on self-defense while improving flexibility and strength. Another highlight is the chance to learn the Malay gamelan under the guidance of Teacher Faliq. Participants will explore this traditional instrument’s soothing melodies, offering both a cultural and therapeutic experience.
Special Workshops for the January School Holidays
Beyond the Open Day, the Academy offers two engaging workshops to keep children creatively active during the school holidays. LET’S SPRING!, a Spring Festival-themed workshop for children aged 4 to 7, runs from January 20 to 23. This program combines story acting, singing, poetry recital, and props making.
For older children aged 7 to 12, the Intensive Public Speaking Workshop from January 21 to 23 focuses on overcoming stage fright and delivering confident, engaging speeches under the guidance of Teacher Khayma.
The Actors Studio Academy’s Speech and Drama program, a cornerstone of its offerings, features 10-week semesters held three times annually. Catering to preschoolers aged 3 to 6 and children aged 7 to 18, classes are scheduled on weekends. Semester fees range from RM400 to RM660, with a one-time registration fee of RM50 for new students.
With trial classes filling up quickly, early registration via bit.ly/tasa_registration is encouraged. Participants signing up during the Open Day can enjoy a RM20 rebate on course fees. For more information, visit klpac.org or email [email protected].
