TOP and MYDIN unite to support underprivileged this Ramadan

TOP’s #TOPBerkongsiRezeki campaign at MYDIN encourages charitable giving through purchases and social engagement to support underprivileged communities.

Hari Raya Aidilfitri is a time of celebration, unity, and generosity, marked by the annual practice of Zakat al-Fitr—a charitable donation given to those in need so that everyone can partake in the festivities. In line with this spirit of giving, TOP, Malaysia’s No.1 detergent brand, has launched the #TOPBerkongsiRezeki campaign, an initiative designed to encourage Malaysians to extend their generosity to underprivileged communities. Running exclusively at MYDIN from March 1 to April 31, 2025, the campaign provides a platform for shoppers to contribute through purchases and social engagement, ensuring that no one is left behind during the festive season.

The campaign aligns with the values of sadaqah (voluntary charity), which holds a special significance during Ramadan, as it is believed that the rewards for good deeds are multiplied during this holy month. Through #TOPBerkongsiRezeki, Malaysians can help those in need by providing essential items and financial assistance, ensuring that families facing hardship can celebrate Raya with dignity and joy.

Raising Funds Through Purchases

TOP’s #TOPBerkongsiRezeki campaign allows Malaysians to contribute in multiple ways. For every purchase of TOP detergent at MYDIN, RM0.10 will be donated to selected charitable organizations, including MYDIN Prihatin, Rumah Aman Children’s Home, and Rumah Safiyyah. The total funds collected will be distributed as RM20,000 in cash, along with RM2,000 worth of TOP products to support charity homes and shelters.

Additionally, social media engagement plays a crucial role in the campaign. For every ‘like’ received on the TOP Silky Miracle video on the brand’s official Facebook page, TOP will donate RM0.50 to the cause. This initiative aims to drive awareness and encourage more people to participate in charitable giving, making it easy for Malaysians to contribute through simple online actions.

Commitment to Community Well-being

Julia Teo, General Manager of Marketing at Southern Lion Malaysia, emphasized the brand’s dedication to both cleanliness and community welfare.

“Raya is a time when celebrants cherish the tradition of wearing new and clean clothes, symbolizing renewal and joy. At Southern Lion, we want the underprivileged to experience this same joy. Through the #TOPBerkongsiRezeki campaign, we aim to go beyond just caring for clothes—we are also committed to the well-being of those less privileged,” said Teo.

She further highlighted the importance of collective action, adding, “Ramadan and Raya are about unity, generosity, and hope. We encourage all our customers at MYDIN to come together and give back to society with TOP so that our campaign beneficiaries can have a Gaya Raya Ceria Bersama TOP.”

Sustainable Initiatives

The campaign will benefit several key organizations that are actively working to support underprivileged communities. MYDIN Prihatin, MYDIN’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, focuses on community welfare and sustainability through programs like Cahaya Prihatin for underprivileged families and #forfuture for environmental conservation. Meanwhile, Rumah Aman Children’s Home and Rumah Safiyyah are non-profit organizations dedicated to providing care and education for underprivileged children, ensuring their well-being and development.

Through the #TOPBerkongsiRezeki campaign, Malaysians have an opportunity to make a meaningful impact this Ramadan and Raya. By purchasing TOP detergent at MYDIN or engaging with the campaign on social media, individuals can contribute towards creating a festive season filled with joy, warmth, and shared blessings for those who need it most.
