Dermatological aid initiative brings hope to underserved communities

La Roche-Posay and Watsons Malaysia partner to bring free dermatological care to underserved communities, bridging the gap in skin health access.

In Malaysia, where a population of 33 million is served by fewer than 200 trained dermatologists, many individuals—especially those in rural areas and lower-income communities—struggle to access vital skin health care. Recognizing this gap, leading dermo-cosmetic brand La Roche-Posay has launched a transformative partnership with Watsons Malaysia to support the Malaysian Skin Foundation in delivering dermatological care to underserved communities.

Extending Free Dermatological Care

La Roche-Posay has joined forces with Malaysia’s top dermatologists, including Dato’ Dr. Noor Zalmy and Dr. Nur Syazwin Sies, to bring expert dermatological care directly to communities in Setapak, Sungai Buloh, and Gombak. Through free on-site consultations, personalised treatment plans, and expert guidance, this initiative aims to equip individuals with the knowledge and tools needed to manage skin conditions effectively.

As part of this outreach, actress and skincare advocate Hannah Delisha will use her platform to raise awareness, encouraging Malaysians to prioritize skin health as an integral part of their overall well-being. Additionally, essential skincare products will be provided to each community, ensuring continued support beyond the consultation sessions.

Better Skin for You, Better Care for Them

From March 1 to April 30, 2025, every purchase of a La Roche-Posay product at Watsons Malaysia will contribute RM2 to the Malaysian Skin Foundation. These funds will help expand public education efforts, subsidise treatments, and support programs aimed at improving dermatological care accessibility nationwide.

By integrating community outreach with sustainable funding, this campaign ensures that individuals facing financial and geographical barriers receive the care they need, helping to prevent skin conditions from becoming long-term health issues.

A Vision for Inclusive Skin Health

Anissa Mokrani, General Manager of L’Oréal Dermatological Beauty for Malaysia and Singapore, underscores the importance of this initiative, “Skin health is a universal right, yet thousands across Malaysia still lack access to essential care. La Roche-Posay’s initiative addresses this gap by bringing expert dermatologists directly to underserved communities, combining consultations with education, and encouraging everyday contributions from Malaysians. With fewer than 200 dermatologists serving a population of 33 million, this campaign acts as a lifeline—creating a ripple effect of meaningful change.”

She further highlights La Roche-Posay’s commitment to long-term impact, “This drive underscores La Roche-Posay’s mission to deliver purposeful care that goes beyond simply treating skin conditions. As the world’s leading dermo-cosmetic brand, we take responsibility for enhancing quality of life—because everyone deserves to feel comfortable in their own skin.”

Your Action Brings Health and Hope

By integrating education, diagnosis, and compassionate care, this initiative seeks to revolutionize dermatological health outcomes for underserved communities across Malaysia. La Roche-Posay’s commitment to bridging the gap between professional dermatological expertise and everyday skincare needs ensures that more Malaysians gain access to expert-recommended solutions.

Through collective action, Malaysians can help make expert skincare more accessible, fostering a future where no one has to suffer in silence due to a lack of dermatological care.
