The annual Jaulah Ramadan initiative, spearheaded by Yayasan Didik Negara and supported by MILO, is set to bring communities together through acts of kindness and nourishment. Kicking off in Kelantan on 9-10 March 2025, the program will extend to Sabah, Kedah, Sarawak, Pulau Pinang, and Putrajaya, delivering essential resources and fostering communal spirit during the holy month of Ramadan.
Uniting Communities Through Shared Meals
In Kota Bahru, Jaulah Ramadan 2025 began with an iftar and sahur gathering at Sekolah Menengah Agama Naim Lil-Banat. Over 900 students participated, sharing meals in a warm, communal atmosphere. This event aimed to instil empathy and resilience by encouraging shared experiences, in line with the program’s mission to cultivate a spirit of giving.
Through these engagements, the initiative seeks to strengthen community bonds while providing meaningful support to those in need. The program reflects Yayasan Didik Negara’s holistic approach, which goes beyond academic excellence to foster values of compassion and social responsibility.
“Jaulah Ramadan 2025 reflects the Yayasan Didik Negara’s commitment to nurturing not just academic excellence, but also values of empathy, resilience, and community spirit. Through this initiative, we aim to provide meaningful support to students and families in need, ensuring they have the essential resources to sustain them during this sacred month,” said Mohd Razi Bin Jaafar, Chief Financial Officer of Yayasan Didik Negara.
Commitment to Community Well-Being
A key feature of the Jaulah Ramadan 2025 initiative is the distribution of 1,100 “Bakul Ramadan” kits by MILO. Each kit contains MILO 1L packs and MILO powder, providing essential nutritional support to sustain students and families during fasting periods. This effort aligns with MILO’s broader mission to promote health and education through community outreach.
“In a year that marks a significant milestone for MILO, celebrating 75 years of nourishing Malaysian communities, we remain deeply committed to uplifting those in need. Our collaboration with Yayasan Didik Negara for Jaulah Ramadan 2025 reflects our enduring commitment to the welfare of communities during this sacred month,” said Norkhayati Mohamed Hashini, Business Executive Officer of Nestlé Ready-To-Drink Malaysia.
MAGGI also joined the initiative by contributing cooking essentials for the “Bakul Ramadan” kits and leading the preparation of bubur lambuk, a traditional porridge symbolising unity and sharing. This communal cooking activity further reinforced the program’s emphasis on collective action and togetherness during Ramadan.
Ministerial Support and Corporate Collaboration
The program in Kota Bahru saw the participation of YB Fadhlina Sidek, Minister of Education, alongside key Ministry of Education (MoE) personnel and senior Nestlé representatives. Among them were Raja Nurmaria Murni Raja Nur Azmi, Executive Director of Group Corporate Affairs for Nestlé Malaysia & Singapore, Ng Su Yen, Business Executive Officer of MILO Malaysia, Ivy Tan Link Cheh, Business Executive Officer of MAGGI Malaysia, and Norkhayati Mohamed Hashini, Business Executive Officer of Nestlé Ready-to-Drink Malaysia.
Their presence underscored the significance of public-private collaboration in fostering social impact and providing critical resources to underserved communities. The event highlighted the importance of collective action in addressing societal needs, especially during a time when compassion and unity are most meaningful.
Nourishing Malaysians During Ramadan and Beyond
MILO’s unique formulation—consisting of barley malt, milk, cocoa, and essential vitamins and minerals—plays a vital role in sustaining energy levels during fasting. The beverage meets the Ministry of Health’s Healthier Choice Logo (HCL) nutrient criteria, offering lower fat and sugar content without compromising taste. This ensures that both students and families receive quality nutrition during sahur and iftar.
The Jaulah Ramadan 2025 initiative reflects a collaborative effort between Yayasan Didik Negara and MILO to deliver not just physical sustenance, but also emotional and social support. This partnership highlights how corporate and educational institutions can work together to create positive, lasting impacts during significant cultural and religious occasions.
