Resorts World Genting unveils the Genting Culinary Classic 2025 and Tourist Privilege Program, enhancing Malaysia’s tourism ahead of Visit Malaysia 2026.

In celebration of its 60th anniversary and Diamond Jubilee, Resorts World Genting (RWG) has unveiled two major initiatives – the Genting Culinary Classic 2025 and the Tourist Privilege Program. Both programs aim to enhance Malaysia’s culinary and tourism landscape ahead of the Visit Malaysia 2026 campaign.

The official launch event took place on 14 March 2025 at Resorts World Awana, with key figures such as Encik Ahmad Husni Ahmad Basri, Deputy Director of Package Development at Tourism Malaysia, and Ms Jennifer Ong, Founder and CEO of HAPA Group, in attendance.

Speaking at the press conference, Spencer Lee, Executive Vice President of Sales, Marketing, and Public Relations at RWG, emphasized the significance of the initiatives. “As we celebrate our Diamond Jubilee, we are thrilled to introduce the Genting Culinary Classic 2025 and the Tourist Privilege Program, both of which align with our commitment to elevating Malaysia’s hospitality and tourism industry. The strong support from Tourism Malaysia has been instrumental to bring these initiatives to life. Their partnership has reinforced our shared vision of positioning Malaysia and RWG as a premier destination for both culinary excellence and world-class travel experiences,” he said.

Genting Culinary Classic 2025

The Genting Culinary Classic 2025, scheduled for 10 and 11 June 2025 at the Genting International Showroom (GISR), will spotlight Malaysia’s diverse culinary heritage. With the theme centered around Malaysian cuisine, the competition seeks to discover and celebrate hidden culinary talents.

RWG has partnered with the Hospitality Asia Platinum Awards (HAPA) as the official event organizer to ensure world-class standards. The competition is open to all aspiring chefs, from home cooks to industry professionals, and provides an unparalleled opportunity for career growth.

Interested participants can register online through RWG’s official website. From the pool of applicants, 20 finalists will be selected based on their creativity, quality, and innovation to compete in the grand finals. A panel of five esteemed culinary experts, including a celebrity chef and renowned food critic, will evaluate the contestants.

The competition offers lucrative rewards, with the Grand National Winner receiving a grand prize of RM25,000. Additionally, the top five winners will have their dishes featured in RWG’s premium dining outlets, providing a rare platform to showcase their culinary creations to a global audience.

Tourist Privilege Program

To attract international visitors, RWG is also launching the Tourist Privilege Program, an exclusive reward initiative that will run until 31 December 2025. This program is designed to offer foreign tourists special perks, reflecting RWG’s commitment to supporting Malaysia’s broader tourism objectives under the Visit Malaysia 2026 campaign.

International visitors can avail themselves of these benefits by presenting a valid passport at the Info Counter on Level 1 of SkyAvenue between 10am and 10pm. Participants will receive a Tourist Privilege welcome kit, which includes exclusive gifts, discounts, and promotions across various RWG attractions.

With limited kits available on a first-come, first-served basis, the program ensures a premium experience for early participants. This initiative aims to enhance the visitor experience while positioning RWG as a key destination in Malaysia’s tourism landscape.
