Japan Expo Malaysia 2025 returns to KLCC

Japan Expo Malaysia 2025 returns to KLCC, showcasing Japanese culture, business, and innovation, with over 70,000 visitors expected.

Japan Expo Malaysia 2025 (JEMY 2025) is set to make a vibrant return from 18 to 20 July at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC), promising an even grander showcase of Japanese culture, innovation, and business opportunities. Now in its sixth edition, the expo is poised to attract over 70,000 visitors and feature more than 80 exhibitors from Malaysia, Japan, and the wider ASEAN region.

Jointly organised by Siam Connection Sdn Bhd and G-Yu Creative Co. Ltd, this year’s edition will span across several thematic zones, each offering an immersive experience of Japan’s multifaceted excellence. From the culinary delights of the “Taste of Japan” zone to the dynamic “Anime & Cosplay” section, JEMY 2025 aims to bridge cultures while highlighting Japan’s advancements in technology, sustainability, and creative industries.

“The expo offers unmatched opportunities to grow your presence, launch products, and connect with key partners and customers from Malaysia, Japan, and the broader ASEAN region,” said Wong Wai Jo, Managing Director of Siam Connection. His call extends warmly to both Japanese companies and Malaysian importers of Japanese products and services, positioning JEMY as a gateway to new markets.

Strengthening trade and cultural ties

Beyond its cultural flair, JEMY 2025 serves as a critical business platform, supporting both B2B and B2C engagements. Exhibitors and attendees alike will have the opportunity to explore potential collaborations, test new products, and establish meaningful networks within the growing ASEAN marketplace.

Japan’s strong presence at the expo is underpinned by enduring economic ties with Malaysia. As of 2023, Japan remained Malaysia’s fourth-largest trading partner for the ninth consecutive year — a testament to the robust trade relationship between the two nations. Events like JEMY 2025 not only celebrate cultural exchange but also drive economic partnerships that benefit both countries.

Ambassador of Japan to Malaysia, H.E. SHIKATA Noriyuki, underscored the significance of the event, stating, “The event is instrumental in promoting Japan’s cultural heritage and enhancing business and cultural exchange. I hope both Japanese and Malaysian companies will actively participate in this dynamic platform.”

Inaugural Japan Expo Malaysia Award

Adding an exciting dimension to this year’s expo is the introduction of the Japan Expo Malaysia Award, an initiative that seeks to recognise individuals, organisations, and groups that have significantly contributed to the promotion of Japanese culture, innovation, and business in Malaysia.

“We are excited to introduce the Japan Expo Malaysia Award,” Wong Wai Jo announced enthusiastically. “This award acknowledges the hard work and passion of individuals and companies who have helped elevate Japan’s presence and influence in Malaysia. We look forward to celebrating those who have played a pivotal role in promoting Japanese culture and innovation.”

A multisensory experience

Visitors to JEMY 2025 can look forward to an unforgettable, multisensory journey that encapsulates the best of Japan. Whether it’s savouring authentic Japanese cuisine, exploring travel opportunities, learning about education prospects, or indulging in the colourful world of anime and cosplay, there is truly something for everyone.

The expo’s diverse offerings promise not only entertainment but also valuable insights into Japan’s innovations in sustainability and lifestyle trends. This well-rounded approach reinforces JEMY’s status as one of the region’s foremost cultural and business expos.

With support from the Embassy of Japan and strong collaboration between organisers and partners, Japan Expo Malaysia 2025 is set to surpass expectations, building deeper bridges between Malaysia and Japan — and leaving a lasting impression on all who attend.
