Family fun light up MILO Malaysia breakfast day in Kuantan

Over 12,000 joined MILO Breakfast Day 2025 in Kuantan, celebrating 75 years of MILO with fitness, family fun, and royal support.

The MILO® Malaysia Breakfast Day (MBD) 2025 made a jubilant return to the East Coast, drawing over 12,000 Malaysians to Padang MPK 1 in Kuantan for a morning bursting with positive energy, fitness, and community spirit. This year’s celebration was even more special as it marked MILO®’s 75th anniversary in Malaysia, and was graced by Kebawah Duli Paduka Baginda Tengku Ampuan Pahang, Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah.

The presence of the Queen Consort lent royal warmth to the gathering, turning the event into a powerful statement on the importance of health, tradition, and community bonding.

Royal endorsement for a Malaysian icon

In her address, Tunku Azizah reminisced about her own childhood memories tied to the beloved chocolate malt drink. “MILO® has been in Malaysia for 75 years, and I’ve been drinking it since I was little — I still enjoy a cup every morning,” she said, drawing cheers from the crowd. She praised the brand’s long-standing presence in schools, particularly its iconic green MILO® van, calling it a fixture of sporting days gone by.

“I hope you’ll continue your works in the schools, especially with the MILO® van, because that’s what we all remember most about MILO®. Back in school, we always looked forward to sports day and the MILO® van — we would queue up for it,” she added. The Queen’s nostalgic recollection echoed the sentiments of generations who grew up with MILO®, reinforcing its status as a cultural mainstay in Malaysia’s social fabric.

Moments of togetherness and endurance

The MBD 2025 in Kuantan offered a carnival of physical activity and shared joy, including the signature MILO® Breakfast Run, high-energy Zumba sessions, and the engaging MILO® Goodness Truck. Celebrity guests Nadhir Nasar and Erysha Emyra joined the festivities, encouraging younger fans to embrace healthy lifestyles.

One unforgettable moment came when a young boy stopped short of the finish line to wait for his grandmother. Hand in hand, they completed the final stretch together, earning applause and reminding everyone that fitness is not a solo journey—it’s about moving forward together.

Among many similar stories of family unity was Nor Shahila binti Ramli and Mohd Dzul Haimi, who joined the run with their three children. “This is our third time joining because it’s really fun — we get to bring the family and spend time together. With our busy work schedules, this is the best opportunity to strengthen family bonds,” they shared.

Celebrating 75 years of community wellness

This year’s MBD is a significant milestone for Nestlé Malaysia, as it commemorates not only 75 years of MILO® but also 112 years of Nestlé’s presence in the country. Juan Aranols, Chief Executive Officer of Nestlé Malaysia, expressed his gratitude for the royal support.

“We are truly honoured by the presence of Kebawah Duli Paduka Baginda Tengku Ampuan Pahang. Her gracious presence inspires us to continue our commitment to promoting healthier lifestyles and building stronger communities together,” said Aranols.

Other families, like Atiqah Ameran and Maliki Shafie, who travelled with their extended family after seeing the event’s buzz online, echoed the same sentiment. “The kids love MILO® — they have it every morning before school, so they were excited to join! An event like this strengthens family and community bonds,” they said.

MILO® Malaysia Breakfast Day 2025 has so far gathered close to 60,000 participants across Putrajaya, Johor, Penang and Kuantan. The momentum is set to grow with upcoming venues announced in Kedah and Terengganu in the next quarter.

With each stop, the initiative continues to serve as a dynamic platform for advocating breakfast as a vital daily habit and encouraging active living among Malaysians of all ages. More than just a fun run, MBD is shaping up to be a national movement—one cup of MILO® and one step at a time.
