Jameson Irish Whiskey is bringing its globally celebrated Jameson Distilled Sounds series back to Kuala Lumpur, with a pulsating night of music, culture, and cocktails set to unfold at The Zhongshan Building on Saturday, 17 May 2025. This edition not only marks the launch of Jameson’s limited-edition bottle designed in collaboration with Grammy-winning artist Anderson .Paak, but also showcases a bold fusion of Southeast Asia’s freshest sounds.
A global initiative launched in 2024, Jameson Distilled Sounds aims to unite music lovers and artists across borders, genres, and cultures. Its latest KL instalment follows the programme’s ongoing commitment to nurturing emerging talent—headlined by Malaysian singer-songwriter Claudia Tan, who is currently being mentored by .Paak. The night promises an immersive sonic journey, connecting Kuala Lumpur to Cork and beyond through rhythm, flavour, and creativity.
18 artists, 4 venues, endless vibes
With performances from 6:00 PM until late, The Zhongshan Building will transform into a multi-venue music hub. At The Courtyard, audiences can expect a soulful blend of indie, electronica, funk, and ambient textures. Thailand’s NOTEP will deliver a meditative electronica set, while Malaysia’s Talitha Tan, Su San, and Saint Kylo will showcase heartfelt indie R&B, introspective melodies, and infectious grooves.
DJ-centric energy will take over the Kantata rooftop, with high-octane sets by Raven, Sheryn, Diorck, and more from the Manipulated Mood Group. As the skyline fades into night, Twilight Actiongirl veterans Chaseylain and Ribut 1059 will close the stage with a nostalgic-yet-fresh B2B set that throws back to KL’s golden age of alternative music.
Meanwhile, Triptyk shifts the tempo with a cocktail-hour ambience where music meets mixology. Angel Ji and Steve Foo will serve Jameson-infused signatures, accompanied by house and deep club beats from Viene and Vanns Ngo. A surprise Hijack Session by a tech house DJ will wrap up the night with an unmissable finale.
More than music
While the beats keep flowing, Jameson adds flavour to the mix—literally. Triptyk curates a menu of bites designed to complement the whiskey’s smooth notes. Highlights include yakitori skewers by Pixies & Vespers and fiery handheld tacos by Calle Taco. Over at Kantata, hearty comfort food will fuel the dancefloor till the last beat drops.
Adding to the celebration, Jameson fans can swing by Poppy Records in the Zhongshan Annexe to enjoy a special one-day-only promotion: purchase the limited-edition Jameson x Anderson .Paak bottle and receive a complimentary vinyl of their choice. A nod to the label’s musical soul, this unique offer blends taste and sound in true Jameson fashion.
Celebration for all music lovers
The event is free and open to the public, but registration is required via Jameson’s official website. Guests who arrive before 8:00 PM will be rewarded with a complimentary Jameson, Ginger Ale & Lime, setting the tone for a night that celebrates craft, community, and connection.
With 18 artists across four venues, and a rich lineup that captures the diverse musical voices of Southeast Asia, Jameson Distilled Sounds at The Zhongshan Building is poised to be one of KL’s standout cultural events of the year—an ode to rhythm, rebellion, and smooth Irish whiskey.
