Miss CosmoWorld Malaysia 2025 was launched in spectacular fashion with a dazzling underwater-themed press conference at the Majestic Marine Ballroom, Confetti KL, setting the tone for a landmark edition of the prestigious beauty pageant.
More than 300 guests including VIPs, sponsors, media representatives, and former beauty queens gathered to celebrate the official kick-off of this year’s competition. The event was graced by key dignitaries such as Honorary Advisor Dato’ Sri (Dr) Chong Chin Fung; Huang Jianbo, Chief Representative of the Guangdong Economic and Trade Office in Southeast Asia (Kuala Lumpur); and YBhg Tan Sri M. Kayveas.
Notable sponsorships were announced, including Melife as Diamond Sponsor, Song Ju Tea as Gold Sponsor, Medicyto Clinic as Silver Sponsor, WM-Partner as the Official Talent Management Partner, and Confetti KL as the Venue Sponsor.
Growth and opportunity
A key highlight of the launch was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Miss CosmoWorld and its strategic partners, reinforcing the pageant’s ambition and international reach.
Melife was confirmed as the Official Diamond Sponsor, while WM-Partner will oversee talent management. In a collaborative twist, Miss Goddess of Nature Malaysia has been named a collaboration partner—automatically qualifying their titleholders as finalists for the Miss CosmoWorld Malaysia Grand Finals, to be held on 27 October 2025 at the JW Marriott Hotel Kuala Lumpur.
Chairlady Joyce Chao, returning for a second term, delivered an emotional speech about her own transformation through the pageant journey. “This pageant shaped me into the woman I am today. Before joining, I was just an ordinary psychologist — I didn’t know how to walk in heels or perform a catwalk. But this journey challenged me, strengthened me, and helped me discover new possibilities in life,”
“You don’t need to be perfect to begin – just take the first step and grow along the way. I encourage more people to join and explore the possibilities that await.” said Joyce.
Celebrating empowerment
The ceremony also featured the Walk of Fame, a moment of celebration for past pageant queens who have made a significant impact both locally and internationally.
Among the honorees were former Miss Chinese Cosmos International winners such as Evana Ho (2006), Stephanie Lee (2007), and Melissa Wong (2016); Miss CosmoWorld Malaysia winners including Zoe Yeoh (2020), Tay Cheah (2023), and Yong Ke Ling (2024); as well as Miss CosmoWorld international titleholders like Nissareen Libung (Thailand 2018) and Zhou Yan Jun (China 2024).
“A beauty pageant is more than just a contest of appearance — it is a celebration of confidence, intelligence, and inner strength. Every contestant embodies the power, diversity, and grace of modern women. True beauty lies in the ability to inspire others and to radiate positive energy that uplifts those around us.” Dato’ Sri (Dr) Chong Chin Fung shared in his keynote,
Founder Carrie Lee, who marks 21 years of pageant success this year, echoed that sentiment in her empowering speech. “Women can transform, be independent, multitask, and endure. I’m still learning to be patient, but I’m also building a bigger empire. Dare to dream, move forward, and practice until you can. Believe in yourself and never give up. Our mindset shapes our future.”
Lee also announced that Miss CosmoWorld 2025 is opening its doors to other countries to host future editions, underscoring the pageant’s growing global footprint.
